Open hours at the Center are typically Saturdays (except home football game days) from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. as well as Sundays during the fall semester from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Each volunteer shift is two hours. This impressive group of five new members brings a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Ron Frear returns to the Board after serving as a member of the Penn State Alumni Council. Ron has had a close working relationship with the Penn State cheerleaders and has helped to have some of them and the Nittany Lion attend some of our events. Alan Jones hails from Rhode Island and can be spotted at nearly every Chapter sponsored activity, Happy Hours, and at SASD, to mention a few. He has been active in both the Scranton and Rhode Island chapters before moving to State College. Bob Runkle is a retired school administrator. His undergraduate and doctorate are from Temple with his Masters obtained at Penn State. Bob and his wife, Cathy, share their time between Happy Valley and Delaware. Nathan Querry is one of our young professionals. He is an avid hiker and recently enjoyed the Spring Creek Trail. He has been a volunteer with the Chapter for our night at WPSU and attends many of our events. Jack Welesko is a retired engineer and along with his wife, Maureen, have been volunteers at SASD,  Alumni Weekend at Arts Festival, and our other Chapter events.   We welcome these new members and look forward to having you get to know them as the year goes on.  The Chapter also thanks Al Landis, our community service project chairman and Ilene White, our corresponding secretary as they rotate off the board. 8.       BUTTONS, BUTTONS, WHO HAS BUTTONS????? – Spring cleaning is upon us.  When cleaning out those closets, storage areas and drawers look for old football buttons to donate to CCCPSAA.  The chapter can use those from 1999 and earlier.  We are swamped with buttons  dated from 2,000 to present, and storage space is limited.  However, we can always use bowl buttons regardless of their vintage.  You may contact Don Miller at dmillerpsu@comcast.net  or call at home 234-3719  or cell 574-4884 and Don will make arrangements to have them picked up.   Last year over $2000 for our scholarship funds was collected from donations made by those who stopped by our Welcome Booth.   Thanks for your consideration!  WE ARE……………………..

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOME GREAT VOLUNTEERS to answer phones at WPSU again this year! – It’s CCCPSAA night Thursday, June 5 during ‘The Grateful Dead-   Dead Ahead’ at WPSU from 7:30 PM to 10 PM.  We’ll have fun enjoying the food & music….and maybe even wearing that tie-dye shirt a lot of us have somewhere  in the house.  You also get to experience all the action that goes on behind the scenes putting on a show at WPSU while helping during their fund drive to continue to develop great local award winning programing like ‘WHY WE DANCE’ and other community programs.

Please join us for a fun night with complimentary dinner, a gift for everyone while we enjoy taking calls and watching a new program.

Please contact Dale Hoffman at dhoff128@comcast.net  or call 814-234-0656 to volunteer.  We would like to get 9 volunteers.

Directions: WPSU is at 120 Outreach Building, located in Innovation Park. The Outreach building is on Innovation Blvd. (Same as the Penn Stater Conference Ctr.& Hotel) Outreach building is at the east end on the right of Innovation Blvd. and there are about 5 satellite dishes in the grass on one side.
